Find your next superstar with Relief-to-Hire™

Roo is in your corner to support all your practice’s people needs, from bringing in relief support for a day to growing your team with your next beloved Vet or Tech. Good news: there’s a better way to recruit that doesn’t involve trading emails back-and-forth with a recruiter or burning weeks waiting for responses on job boards.

Roo shifts are a great way to trial run a variety of candidates and get the real experience of working together to see their skill set in action and how they connect with your existing team (even when things get hectic). Here’s how to get started:

1. Set your profile’s hiring status

Hop over to your profile and scroll on down to the section labeled: “Hiring opportunities.

If you select “Yes, we’re actively looking” or “We’re open to it,” a Hiring label will be added to your profile for job-seeking Vets and Techs to see. It looks like this:

This will also let you see “Job Searching” or “Open to Jobs” labels on Vet and Tech profiles so you can prioritize these requests.

2. Test the fit during relief shifts

Post relief shifts and work with job-seeking Vets or Techs until you find the one who’s a great culture fit! You’ll get the real experience of working together, and see how they mesh with your existing team and interact with actual clients.

3. Let Roo know you’re interested

Did you find your next rockstar?! Awesome, we’re here to help with the transition. Simply follow the prompts when you rate your shift to let us know the Vet or Tech you’re interested in hiring part or full-time. You can also email relieftohire@roo.vet and one of our handy humans will help you out.

We’ll reach out to the Vet or Tech to confirm their interest and connect you if it’s a Roo Match! You’ll interview and negotiate directly with the candidate.

Hire your next superstar and celebrate!

Once they accept your offer, let us know the details. There is an industry-standard placement fee, and rates can be found here.

If you have upcoming shifts scheduled with the Vet or Tech you hired, we’ll cancel those shifts free of charge as long as we’ve been given at least two weeks notice.

Hop hop hooray! You did it. We hope you enjoy your match made by Roo!
