Adding a provincial licence
Signing up for Roo
After signing up, you'll schedule a quick onboarding call where our team will walk you through how to get the most out of the Roo platform.
You'll also need to submit your licence info to get verified in any province(s) where you'd like to pick up locum shifts. This process usually takes around three days.
Once you've completed your onboarding call and verified your licence, you'll be able to request locum shifts. Licence verification is not required to enjoy our free continuing education content, which you'll be able to access right away after joining.
Adding a new provincial licence
Roo is only available in Ontario for now, but we may be hopping to new provinces soon! Once we do, you can add a licence for any other province where you're licensed and want to work. Head to your Roo profile and select "Add license" to get started.
How long does verification take?
Roo verifies your licence with your provincial regulatory college. This usually takes around three days, and we'll let you know as soon as it's verified.
Once your licence is verified, you'll receive:
- A confirmation email
- A notification in your account inbox
- An updated status in your Roo profile showing "Verified"
What does each licence status mean?
- Verified: Your licence is confirmed and in good standing. You're ready to request shifts in that province.
- Pending: Your licence is being verified and usually takes around three days.
- Expired: Your licence has passed its expiration date. You won't be able to work shifts in that province until it's renewed with your provincial regulatory college and re-verified.
- Unable to verify: We couldn't confirm your licence. See below for next steps.
My licence shows "Unable to Verify", what steps should I take?
If you are seeing in your account that we are unable to verify your licence, it's usually due to a mismatch with college records. Here's what to check:
- Head to your account and double-check your licence number, province, and your first and last name. Make sure there are no missing digits, typos, or name differences from what appears on your licence record.
- If everything looks accurate, reach out to us at hello@roo.vet. Our support team will help sort it out as quickly as possible.
What do I need to do when my licence is expiring soon?
Just renew your licence with your provincial regulatory college. No action is needed in Roo!
Once your regulatory college processes the renewal, Roo will re-verify you licence. It's best to renew ahead of time to avoid any interruptions. We'll notify you once it's verified.
We'll also send reminders starting 90 days before your licence expires.
