How to set up my personal booking link (Veterinarians)

Personal Booking Link

Your personal booking link enables hospitals to book you directly for shifts based off the preferences you control. Set your availability, shift type, and hourly rate, and then generate a unique booking link to share with hospitals that are or aren’t on the Roo platform!

How to setup your booking link

Step 1: Go to your Schedule page or your Profile and click “Share My Booking Link” in the top right corner.

Step 2: Set your availability for the dates you can work

Hospitals will only be able to book you on dates that you mark as available. Hospitals can book you for any and all days you mark as available, so be sure to only mark days you’re comfortable being booked.

  • Time: Set your preferred “Starts after” and “Ends before” timeframe
  • Weekly availability: Click the days of the week icons to auto-fill those days, or individually select the days you’re available. Your available calendar days are synced with your Availability settings from your Schedule page, and will be pre-filled for you to edit or keep as is.

Step 3: Set your shift type and rate

Select the shift type(s) and the rate(s) you can work. This is the type of shift you’ll work and how much you will be paid if the hospital books you.

  • Shift type: Choose from GP, Surgery, Urgent Care, Emergency, ER Overnight
  • Rate: Enter your desired hourly weekday and weekend/holiday rates

Hospitals will not be able to adjust the pay when booking you through your booking link. Roo will charge the hospital a service fee, which we’ll let the hospital know about prior to booking, and it will not affect your preferred rates.

Step 4 (Optional): Enter any work preferences, preferred procedures, or anything else you’d like the hospital to know.

Step 5: Share your link!

Click “Copy Link” to copy your booking link, or click “Share Link” to open up your native mail sharing option.

Important things to know

  • Penalty-free cancellation window: You have a 48-hour grace period to cancel a confirmed shift penalty-free when a hospital books you through your booking link, even if the shift is sooner than 48 hours away. Cancelling within this window won't count towards your callout count. We’ll send you an email and SMS letting you know you’ve been booked as soon as a hospital books you through your booking link.
    • Hospitals have a 24-hour cancellation window to cancel shifts booked through your booking link.
  • Hospitals can't adjust your rate: The rate you set for each shift type is exactly what you’ll get paid if the hospital confirms you for a shift using your booking link.
  • Setting an overnight rate opens you up to overnight shifts: If you set a rate for “ER Overnight” shifts, a hospital can book you for shifts between 10pm and 4am. Remember to keep in mind that hospitals can book you for any shift that you select and enter a rate for.
  • Availability is required for your booking link: If a hospital clicks your booking link and you don’t have upcoming availability set, they won’t be able to book you through your link. You can update your availability and booking link settings to reactivate your link to reshare.
  • Your availability stays in sync: Availability you set on your booking link updates your Schedule page, and vice versa, so you only have to manage it in one place. Dates with a confirmed shift are automatically blocked so you won't get double-booked.

Best practices to keep in mind

Set up your booking link in a way that reflects how you actually want to work, so hospitals get an accurate picture of your availability and rates from the start.

  • Keep your availability current: Hospitals can only book the dates you've marked open, so update it whenever your schedule changes.
  • Share your link where new relationships start: Your booking link works best with hospitals you haven't worked with before, like ones you meet at conferences, through referrals, or in your professional network.
  • Set rates you're comfortable holding firm: Since hospitals can't negotiate your rate, choose weekday and weekend/holiday rates you're happy with before you share your link.
