Cancelling a Shift Due to Extreme Weather

When the weather turns wild, here’s the quickest way to keep things smooth for your hospital and the relief pro:

First, don’t self-cancel the shift in the platform. Self-canceling automatically triggers cancellation fees, even for weather, and we want to help you avoid that.

  1. Reach out to the Vet or Tech in Roo Messaging right away. Let them know about the cancellation, and ask them to confirm they’ve seen your message.
  2. Give Roo a quick heads up. We’ll document the cancellation on our side and support both parties.

Roo policy reminders

We’ll verify local conditions to confirm the weather-related cancellation. Once confirmed, you’ll receive a full refund, and no penalties will be applied. We typically send emails to remind you of this policy for some large scale weather events, but just because you don’t receive an email doesn’t mean this policy isn’t in effect.

A quick note about traveling relief pros

Some Vets and Techs travel far, sometimes booking lodging just to support your team! A few may still want to work if your hospital is open. If you can offer an alternate date, it goes a long way in helping them make up the lost income.

Stay safe, and thanks for handling these situations with the steady calm of a seasoned pro.
