A stronger community with every shift
We've updated how reviews work to make them more meaningful and reliable, helping improve matches and future shift experiences.
Clearer review questions and richer profile insights give Vets, Techs and hospitals on Roo more useful information to make confident choices. Each review builds trust and transparency, strengthening the Roo community with every shift.
You’ll start to see these updates appear gradually on profiles as more feedback is shared.
What’s new
1. Clearer review questions
When leaving a review for a Veterinarian or Technician, you’ll see updated questions that make sharing feedback clearer for everyone.
- Instead of star ratings, you’ll answer with a simple 👍 or 👎. After your first shift with a Vet or Tech, you’ll answer “Would you work with this (Vet or Tech) again?” and for future shifts with that same veterinary professional, “Did the (Vet or Tech) meet the shift expectations?”.
- You can also select short feedback categories to share what went well or what could improve.
These updates make feedback simpler and more focused on each shift, reducing confusion around what different star ratings mean.
2. Star ratings are now shown as “% of shifts met expectations”
Past star ratings have been carried over and turned into a percentage showing how often shifts met expectations. Shifts that were rated four or five stars count as “met expectations,” and new reviews will continue to update this percentage over time.
This provides a clear, consistent view of how often expectations are met, without the guesswork of the old star scale.
3. Richer profile insights
Hospital profiles now include separate tabs for Vet reviews and Tech reviews, each showing relevant details such as total shifts completed, what others loved, and whether others would work together again. Insights appear once there are at least three reviews.
4. Anonymous and balanced reviews
Reviews remain anonymous and will now show on profiles only after both sides have submitted feedback, or after the three-week review period ends. After this period, reviews can no longer be submitted for that shift.
This update keeps feedback timely and balanced while ensuring reviews reflect genuine shift experiences.
How these review updates help you
These updates are designed to make reviews more useful for you and for veterinary professionals, helping everyone find the right match and create better shift experiences.
- Find veterinary professionals who fit your hospital’s needs. New insights and feedback categories make it easier to identify reliable, high-performing vets and techs who match your hospital’s workflows and culture.
- Show what makes your hospital a great place to work. When vets and techs leave feedback, they can choose from new categories such as caseload, staff, or equipment. These insights highlight your hospital’s strengths and help attract more professionals who are a good fit.
- Create better experiences together. Your feedback helps veterinary professionals understand what’s working well and where things could improve, leading to smoother, more consistent collaboration across future shifts.
Leaving a review
Leaving a review is simpler and more focused:
- Give a quick 👍 or 👎 to share how the shift went
- Select what went well or could improve
- Add a short public comment
- Report issues to Roo without having to submitting a review
- Auto-confirm, block, or indicate interest in hiring a Vet or Tech
- Mark a cancellation or no-call, no-show (NCNS). You have up to 14 days after a shift to submit feedback or report a no-call, no-show.
What to expect on profiles
As more reviews are shared, profiles will gradually include new insights such as:
- % of shifts that met expectations (converted from past star ratings if applicable)
- % would work here again
- Total shifts completed
- What others loved or could improve
- Written public comments
Insights appear once there are at least three reviews, ensuring a balanced and reliable view for everyone.
Here’s an example of what profiles may look like once more reviews are shared:
Note: Past written reviews will remain visible and your shift history isn’t affected by these changes.
Thanks for helping make Roo a trusted place to work and grow together! 💜
