Roo makes it easy for you to renew expired shift requests so you can find the coverage your hospital needs.
Once you renew a request, the Vet or Tech who originally requested your shift will receive a message and email with a link to instant book the shift if they’re still interested in working at your hospital that day. You can also renew multiple expired shift requests for the same shift to increase your chances of getting the shift covered!

Step 1: Viewing your shift requests

- Click Renew
- This will create a message for the Vet or Tech to instantly book the shift.
- Send the Vet or Tech a message or use the template provided to let them know their expired shift request has been renewed
- The message will automatically include a link to the shift for them to instant book it if they choose to. They’ll also receive an email notifying them that their expired shift request has been renewed and a link to instant book the shift.
- You'll receive an email confirming you renewed an expired shift request that includes the shift details, date, and the Vet or Tech’s name
- If the Vet or Tech chooses to instant book the renewed shift request, you’ll receive a confirmation that they’ve booked the shift.
Expiration window
Renewed expired requests have a different expiration window than regular shift requests:
- If an expired shift request is renewed more than 24 hours before the shift start time, the renewed request will expire 12 hours before the shift
- If an expired shift request is renewed less than 24 hours before the shift start time, the renewed request will not expire
Important things to know
- If you renew multiple expired requests for the same shift, Vets or Techs will be able to instant book the shift on a first come, first serve basis.
- At this time, expired shift requests are renewed at your originally-posted shift price and with the original shift details. If a Vet placed a price or time adjustment, it will not be reflected in the renewal, and Vets will be unable to negotiate on renewed expired shift requests.
